As we jammed out to “What would you say?” by Dave Matthews, we pumped up for our RDJ literary adventure. Your mission is to write a reflection about that adventure including the other aspects of the Gab Slab. Here are guiding questions that may help you if you find yourself stuck:
~ Which slides or bullets from the RDJ PP and/or update, did your group discuss?
~ Identify some or all of the books being read at your table? Did any of them sound interesting, why or why not?
~ Did you learn something new or did something click of which you struggled with previously? If so, why or why not?
~ How would you rate your understanding on a scale of 1 (not at all) to 10 (definitely got it) on the main idea and supporting detail info using the Science Chapter 8 material?
~ How did sharing and comparing the info from section 1 tool box help you? If it didn’t, why not?
~ How did setting up section 2 with your group work?
~ What would you change about today’s format, participation, other? Why?

The main bullets that we discussed were: irony and character type. One person didnt get it fully, and I can’t really aquire it in my writings. For character type we discussed that it was one of the easiest ones to write about without too much trouble.

~ Tyler’s sounded interesting, his was about a vampire!
~ I didn’t learn anything new… except about how confused i can get!
~ I completely understand the science thing, but I am still reeealllyyy confused about RDJ 22 and it is due tomorrow! Help!
~ It helped me see how I was doing.
~ We didn’t get far enough to do section 2.
~ It would help if you could explain it again and help me understand what we are doing. I also have a question- are we supposed to write RDJ 22 to somebody?
~ Not really, except for maybe making it a little clearer and less confusing!

In the group I worked in, the topics brought up were Conflict, dialouge, and point of veiw. The books brought up were Knightmare, Darkness before dawn, and I cannot recall the last one.
P.S. In the future, I would rather do Regular RDJ’s instead of the blog.

My group mainly discussed allusion, from the RDJ update. I think that we were all very confused by it. I didn’t really learn anything about it, because none of the people at my table knew much about it. We also discussed irony a little. We mostly got it, but when we discussed it, it clicked a little bit more. One of the people at my table was reading forged by fire. It sounded pretty interesting. It sounded like something that I woud enjoy reading. I would rate the main idea and supporting detail info a 6. I would rate it this because I kind of got it, but not completely. I do not have any suggestions for the future.

Our choose the RDJ Update. The bullets that we all choose were irony, Allusion, Critical Anaysis of Text and Character Types. Trevor picked irony, and allusion. For Irony he said that he gets it but doesn’t understand it somewhat. I didn’t get that far for allusion I waited the last mintue when I ask him. Nick Green chose Irony, and Critical Analysis of Text. The reason he chose Critical Analysis of Text is because it’s very confusing . For irony he gets it also but can’t really aqurie it in his writing.

~My table dicuss irony, critial analysis of text, and character types
~I don’t know what books that my table is reading but I’m reading the Grim Grotto and My Sister the Vampire Switched
~I think I learned something new and It was that Trevor gets what he was talking about but doesn’t understand irony. What he said was interesting because I thought he would take it seriously but he didn’t.
~I think I would give the main idea and supporting details about a 5, because sometimes I forget what I was writing and I get all messed up. Also I don’t get the RDJ power point slide and the RDJ update. I think I would have to have your help to refresh my memory.
~ I think it might of help because it gives us a little bit of information on what to do about the other sections in Chapter 8
~My group didn’t set up Section 2 because we were all playing around and we had to do it for homework.
~ What I would change is that we would get some help with this because I didn’t understand what we are suppose to do and I tried to get help
~ I think an improvement is to stay focused more and that when I need help I will ask and wait but when I wait it takes forever for Mrs.Lancaster to get around.

~ Ummm…. nobodys really because you can’t really tell a lot by the questions we asked
~ I learned that things are really confusing at times
~ 5 because i get it but it is also really confusing at the same time
~ Well in section one sharing and comparing was okay untill we had to be on our own =(
~ We didn’t get far enough to set up section two with our old tables so i dont think it worked
~ It probably would’ve helped if you would’ve explained it again and that it wasn’t so confusing so we can understand what exactly what we were doing

~I did not find any books that sounded intresting to me but chels was reading the same book as me haha. Also M&M didnt get to pt in his input becuse he was looking for his book the whloe class.
~For the science thing i rate it at a 10 and the way you did the lesson was not really boring. haha
~Oh ya and this is totaly off subject but thanks for finnaly puting me and sierra at the ame table. hehehe
